  • It's important to keep an eye on your credit report to ensure that there are no unexpected fees or charges. One fee that you might see on your report is a security monitoring fee.   • The regulatory recovery fee is a charge that may appear on a credit file in relation to certain utilities. This fee is typically assessed by utilities to help cover the costs associated with complying with government regulations, such as environmental standards and safety requirements. While the fee itself is not a negative mark on a credit file, it could potentially impact a person's credit score if it goes unpaid. This is because unpaid utility bills can be reported to credit bureaus and may be viewed as a sign of financial irresponsibility. As such, it is important for consumers to stay aware of any regulatory recovery fees that may appear on their utility bills and to make timely payments in order to avoid any negative impacts on their credit score.
